Webinar PPWR Explained - Introduction
During the webinar on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, we explained the basics of the PPWR step by step. We covered the key definitions, the declaration of conformity, and the timeline with all obligations.

Our recycling results
In 2024, 88% of all packaging released on the market was recycled or reused. This is well above the Dutch legal target of 72% and the European target of 65% (in 2025). This makes us one of the front runners in Europe. We still have a long way to go towards completely fossil-free and circular packaging in 2050. We are working on this together with all parties in the packaging chain.

Rates 2026
The Packaging Waste Management Contribution has different rates, depending on the type of material and/or packaging. The rates are determined annually and must cover the expected costs. Verpact is a non-profit foundation.
The PPWR is on the way: what does it mean for you?
The PPWR is the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. It’s an EU law about packaging. We provide full details here of its purpose, its consequences and the ways in which you can prepare for it.
