Fee Modulation Plastic 2027 – Design for Recycling
By designing packaging to be more recyclable, you become eligible for a discount on the waste management fee. View the discount tiers, conditions, and Recycle Checks for the current year.
Design for recycling discount tiers
For a design that is highly recyclable, you receive a discount in increments of €0.10 per kg, up to a maximum of €0.40 per kg.
Mono-material: €0.10 per kg discount if the target material is a mono-material:
- Rigid: at least 95 percent PET, PE, or PP
- Flexible: at least 90 percent PE or PP

Color: €0.10 per kg discount if at least 90 percent of the target material is:
- For PP/PE: Colorless, natural, or white (or light-colored, if demonstrably due to the use of recyclate). Material with added white colorant also qualifies.
- For PET, the color discount applies to natural or colorless material.

Labels and printing: €0.10 per kg discount if the disposal unit does not have loose labels, sleeves, in-mold labels, or direct printing, or if it meets the conditions set out in the regulation.

Recycle Check: €0.10 per kg discount if your disposal unit scores 'highly recyclable' in the current year's Recycle Check. In the Recycle Check, we assess the recyclability of your packaging based on detailed questions regarding the composition of the disposal unit.
