-- Pack for the Future 2026 -- From Packaging Challenge to Packaging Solution

A great deal of progress has already been made in making packaging more sustainable, but there is still work to be done to improve its recyclability. The transition to fully recyclable packaging requires acceleration.
On June 16, Pack for the Future will bring together current packaging challenges and concrete market solutions that can be directly applied in practice. The event will take place at the Chassé Theater in Breda and is invitation-only. You can request an invitation via packforthefuture@verpact.nl.
About Pack for the Future
Pack for the Future is a combination of a trade fair, conference, and networking event, organized by Verpact and Fost Plus in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research. More than 250 professionals from the Netherlands and Belgium will come together to translate new regulations and ambitions into actionable steps toward 100% recyclable packaging.
The program includes various in-depth sessions addressing the latest developments in the value chain. Topics include the latest status of the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation), the impact of labels and adhesives on recyclability, and the newest insights in recyclability and packaging design. Exhibitors will present their solutions on the trade floor, and there will also be dedicated networking opportunities.
The packaging challenges
Below are some of the packaging challenges we have identified in the sector together with Fost Plus. A selection of 22 diverse packaging types, each presenting its own challenge. Here is a brief preview with three examples. In Challenging Packaging (pdf) you can view them all.

2. Dairy: Butter wrappers

6. Dairy: Heavier products such as a block of cheese

8. Coffee: Ground and beans coffee
