Producer responsibility under Dutch packaging law can apply broadly. Under the current rules, registration with Verpact is necessary now when one of the following applies to you:

• you place more than 50,000 kg of packaging on the Dutch market per year; or
• you place Single-Use Plastic (SUP) packaging on the Dutch market; or
• you place Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) packaging on the Dutch market, such as plastic drink bottles or cans.

If none of these apply to you at this time, no registration is needed for now. Please note that, following the implementation of the PPWR, the current 50,000 kg threshold is expected to be removed in the future.
